I have a total of 7+ years producing experience. I spent eight months as the acting Executive Producer at WCBD. During that time, I took a leadership role in the newsroom. I led a staff of 50+ people on a daily basis. That included making all news and editorial decisions for the day. For two years, I served as Web Action Committee President. I encouraged reporters, anchors and producers to contribute stories, video and photographs to our website. My professional goals are to manage in an Executive Producer role or serve in a Web Producer capacity.

Professional Experience

WCBD Channel 2: NBC

Acting Executive Producer:
(July 2007 - Present)

• During our time of transition, I stepped up to serve as the acting Executive Producer. I led the newsroom in a time when there was no News Director. During that transition, I was in charge of staff. On a daily basis, I made all news decisions and helped reporters and producers to put on a solid newscast. I also scheduled staff and managed vacation requests.

6pm Senior Producer:
(October 2006 - July 2007)

• I was in charge of producing the lead newscast. I attended morning meetings and brainstormed ideas with reporters, producers and the News Director. I stacked, wrote and boothed my show daily. I also copy-edited and worked with reporters on their scripts. I also posted stories, video and photographs to our website on a nightly basis. During that time, I also filled in as Executive Producer on several occasions.

11pm Producer:
(June 2003 - October 2006)

• My duties included writing, stacking and boothing my newscast. I excelled at showcasing stories. I also coordinated videos with my news editors and ran my own desk at night, making beat calls and listening to scanners. My duties also included updating the WCBD News website with breaking news and other important stories.

Web Experience

• Updated station website daily, including uploading pictures and video. Wrote and edited news stories daily. Also wrote movie reviews and travel features periodically. Served as Web Action Committee President, encouraging staff members to contribute to the web. Also ran monthly meetings with fellow WAC committee members to brainstorm ideas and discuss changes to the station website.

• Responsible for bringing blogs and online chat after series pieces to station website.
